Passengers can Sustain an Intracerebral Hemorrhage in a Car Accident

Car accidents are an unfortunate reality of driving. While some car accidents are unavoidable, others are due to negligent driving. Whether the car accident is minor or multiple cars are totaled, any accident can result in serious medical injuries. These can lead to massive hospital bills or even a loss of life.

2 women killed in 2-car accident

At 4:12 p.m. on Dec. 26, sheriff's deputies in Michigan reported to the scene of a collision that killed two people and injured four. The two-car accident took place in Weesaw Township at the intersection of Warren Woods Road and Cleveland Avenue. According to the initial investigation, the crash occurred after one of the vehicles failed to observe a stop sign.

Whiplash: A Common Injury with Serious Consequences

Everyone who has ever driven a car understands that car accidents are a risk that comes with the hazards of the road; however, many people don't realize that even relatively minor car accidents can wind up causing serious medical injuries. Related medical bills can pile up quickly even for people with health insurance.

Driving the wrong way with Snapchat

Snapchat has garnered attention among social media users in Michigan and around the country. However, its speed filter app has attracted more attention when it was mentioned in several news reports. Two young people died in a fatal car crash after using the Snapchat speed filter to showcase their escapade. Unfortunately, what was planned to be a display of their race with time, turned out to be their final performance. The video that was posted online showed how the driver navigated the vehicle beyond the speed limit. The vehicle charged down the highway accelerating quickly from 82.6 mph to 115.6 mph.

Marital assets that should not be forgotten in a divorce

Most Michigan couples who are ending their marriage know that they will have to divide tangible items like houses, cars and furniture. Money in checking and savings accounts will also have to be divided, and divorcing spouses are often worried about getting their fair share of the cash. While property division negotiations are going on, people sometimes overlook certain items that are just as valuable but more difficult to split.

Crash rates increase when drivers are drowsy

Sleep deprivation appears to correlate to an increased risk of crashing a car, according to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. Michigan residents may be aware that getting an insufficient number of hours of sleep each day has been previously linked to depression and weight gain, but following a report released on Dec. 6, traffic safety officials are warning that motorists are not yet fully cognizant of the dangers that are inherent in drowsy driving.

Some states are more dangerous for motorists than others

Michigan residents may know that the number of traffic fatalities decreased in 2014 in the United States. This may be due to the fact that designs for roads have been improved and safety measures added to help avoid accidents. However, in some states, the numbers of traffic fatalities are still considerably higher than in others.
